Ya’at’eeh Nov. 18th 2019

Hello everyone, I know I’ve been severely lacking in updates, but if you follow me on twitter (@dvnpete), you’ll find that life has certainly kept me extremely busy.

In May 2019, I finally finished my LIS degree, so officially, I’m a legit librarian or archivist. My focus always on tribal libraries and archives.

I also am making head way to finish my MA in Linguistics or the Native American Languages & Lingusitics (NAMA) program here at the University of Arizona. I will have a stronger linguistics training especially with my own language Diné Bizaad. I hope to start adding a section on my site to include more language and linguistics bits that some might find interesting.

In September 2019, I had the opportunity to attend the The Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums 2019 International Conference with a strong focus on Language Preservation and Revitalization as my focus is figuring out ways to emphasis language use and sustainability for the Navajo Nation.

In the summer of 2019, I was able to connect with the great folks at the Navajo Language Academy which is based out of Window Rock, AZ but held their summer workshop at Navajo Technical University in Crownpoint, NM. There we were able to examine and look at the Navajo Language through various lenses primarily through the linguistic lens. It was wonderful working with both fluent speakers and language advocates who were all wanting to do more for our language.

I’m still available to do graphic and web design work, please do contact me:
